Chiang Mai airport to unveil plan

During his observation journey this weekend, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin will hear from the airport in Chiang Mai about its development plan.

The Thai Cement Manufacturers Association( TCMA ) will construct the first phase of a new terminal there, according to Wijit Kaewsaitiam, the airport director, who announced this yesterday.

He claimed that the end improvement plan will increase the airport’s capacity and allow it to receive more than 16.5 million visitors annually, an increase from the current eight million. Additionally, the airport wants to increase its present capacity by allowing up to 30 flights per hour.

Additionally, working days may be extended around-the-clock to allow for more international flights, particularly those from Europe.

He claimed that the switch project adheres to Chiang Mai’s statewide development plan and the proper plan of the Airports of Thailand.

According to Mr. Wijit, the connector will take three years to construct the first period and be operational by 2029. In the state, authorities might also construct another airport.

After finishing his tour of the North East and the South, Mr. Srettha may travel to Chiang Mai from September 15 to September 17. The plan to work night flights will have an impact on the locals in the Muang district of Chiang Mai, where Mr. Srettha will join them on September 17. Additionally, he may meet with executives from the Chiang Mai aircraft.
