Korn becomes exec because merger revealed
The Chartpattana Party was renamed the “Chart Pattana Kla” Party in yesterday’s special set up in which former Kla Party leader Korn Chatikavanij was appointed as a party executive.
The move followed an announcement early this month that Mister Korn would be becoming a member of the party’s team to tackle financial problems.
At yesterday’s meeting, Chartpattana leader Tewan Liptapallop informed the gathering that Mr Korn resigned because Kla leader and applied to join the particular party on Sept 2 .
Appearing alongside Mister Korn after the scheduled appointment were Atavit Suwannapakdee, Kla’s former secretary-general, and almost 40 people who were formerly revealed as potential Kla Party candidates.
Mr Korn said it had been clear that they had been all joining the particular Chartpattana Kla Celebration. Earlier this 30 days he was tight-lipped about the future of Kla Party executives and potential candidates.

Mr Korn has been quoted as saying early this month that the change in the calculation of party-list MPs would be particularly significant for recently established parties which it would be an advantage in the event that small parties joined up with forces and worked well together.
According to Suwat Liptapanlop, chairman of Chart Pattana, Mr Korn and his 80-man group would handle financial issues and they would certainly strengthen the party’s economic team.
He said the name change had been part of the party’s rebranding which was proposed by Mr Thewan and agreed to by party members.
The new name would certainly eliminate confusion among voters as various other parties have similar names and it would certainly distinguish the celebration from others adopting the change to the political election rules, he mentioned.
“Chart Pattana has a good meaning so we chose to keep it but we all wanted to make it clear and various. Several names were proposed but Graph Pattana Kla experienced 259 votes from over 300 participants, ” he said.
