Changi Airport unveils new search and rescue boats to boost response to incidents at sea

SINGAPORE: Three fresh sea save vessels have been added to Changi Airport ‘s&nbsp, emergency service team&nbsp, to increase its fire and search and rescue features.

The boats were showcased in the airport’s annual crisis simulation exercise on Thursday ( Oct 17 ), which involved nearly 20 agencies and more than 200 participants. &nbsp,

The new warships- Getting Craft, Command Craft and Fast Craft- may replace older art that will accomplish their end of life by this year, said Changi Airport Group ( CAG ), which manages the aircraft, &nbsp, in a media release. &nbsp,

Each vehicle has a standard maximum speed of 40 twists, an increase from 20 knots for the first-generation warships, which include hovercrafts and inflated ships.

CAG’s Airport Emergency Service ( AES ) team is in charge of handling crashes at the airport, firefighting, rescue operations, as well as other emergencies involving dangerous goods, bomb warnings, and chemical or biological threats. &nbsp,

It operates from a water save base that is located off Changi Airport and is equipped with equipment and emergency supplies to deal with aircraft accidents in the waters that surround the aircraft and other related sea accidents.

The hovercraft factory is Singapore’s just area, aside from the base.
