Chaiwat Limlikit-aksorn, the former chief of Kaeng Krachan National Park arrested of being involved in the disappearance and murder of the Karen rights activist, yesterday maintained his innocence and stated he was prepared to fight the charges in court.
Mr Chaiwat was reacting to media reports that the Office of the Attorney-General had decided to indict him and three others over the disappearance and death associated with Porlajee “Billy” Rakchongcharoen in 2014.
He mentioned he had evidence to prove his purity in court. However , Mr Chaiwat stated the case against him had something to do with their campaign against forest encroachment and human trafficking.
He also questioned the timing from the criminal lawsuit which usually he said came shortly after his demand to be reinstated as being a civil servant had been granted by Phetchaburi’s Administrative Court.
