Welcome the Year of the Dragon from the comfort of your own home. Here’s a list of Chinese New Year programmes you can catch on your TV or mobile devices for some festive joy.

LUNAR NEW YEAR’S EVE SPECIAL 2024

When: Feb 9, 10.30pm

Where: Channel 8, mewatch and Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel

From song medleys and dance numbers to stilt walkers and martial arts demonstrations, this year’s Lunar New Year’s Eve Special will feature an array of entertainment, alongside a star-studded line-up including Ah Jie Zoe Tay, Desmond Tan, Joanne Peh, Qi Yuwu and more.

Themed Warmth, this year’s live programme will be hosted by veteran artiste Guo Liang and Mediacorp YES 933 DJs Jeff Goh, Hazelle Teo and Chen Ning. 

There will also be a culinary showdown with teams led by ‘HDB Tai Tai’ Kym Ng and ‘Aunty Lucy’, respectively. 

SPECIAL LUNAR NEW YEAR PROGRAMMES

Where: Channel 8, Channel U and mewatch

Local content: Once Upon A New Year’s Eve, which premiered on Jan 15 and is currently airing on mewatch and Channel 9. It stars Qi Yuwu, Jesseca Liu, Zhang Ze Tong, He Ying Ying and Jeremy Chan, among others as they embark on time travelling adventures, mend old scars and relearn the importance of family.

CHINGAY PARADE 2024: BLOSSOM

Catch the repeat broadcast on Mar 10 on mewatch, Channel 5 and Channel 8 

This year’s Chingay will feature the a 230m interactive floor projection – Singapore’s longest ever for a street parade. Themed Blossom, it will feature six acts and 17 community-made floats with different flowers showcasing various aspects of Singapore’s rich tapestry of culture and traditions.

RIVER HONGBAO 2023 – SINGAPORE TALENT NIGHT

When: Feb 24, 8pm

Where: Channel 8, mewatch and Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube channel

River Hongbao returns to Gardens by The Bay for the fourth consecutive year and will be hosted by Guo Liang and Kym Ng. Audiences can expect traditional and modern performances by local cultural groups and Mediacorp artistes including Zoe Tay, Chen Hanwei, Brandon Wong, Romeo Tan, and more.
