Car topples 12 Bangkok power poles, causes blackout

A car&nbsp struck a strength pole, causing the entire destruction of 12 power poles, as well as a blackout and other car damage in Bangkok on Sunday morning.

A blue Suzuki Swift registered in Chon Buri state failed to communicate a stretch and hit a strength pole, according to officials who were present at the scene of the accident at Wee Liam flex on Kanchanaphisek Road in Bang Khae area at around 8am. The shaft collapsed, pulling over 11 different power poles.

Around 150 homes were completely destroyed in the crash, and a few additional vehicles were also damaged. On Sunday nights, power supply officials hoped to recover power to all affected locations.

The 20-year-old driver of the car was somewhat injured.
