
The consulate-general office’s area in Thailand has been chosen by the Thai government in Songkhla.
The Thai Prime Minister Hun Manet’s agreement, which was obtained by the Khmer Times on Friday, stated that his government had chosen to establish the country’s first consulate-general in Thailand in the southwestern border territory.
The business will be established, but the Vietnamese online media did not provide more details about when.
In February, Hun Manet and then-prime secretary Srettha Thavisin spoke in Bangkok, and the decision was taken. It is a mutual movement, as Thailand even plans to set up a consulate-general in Siem Reap.
About 1.2 million Cambodians are officially employed in Thailand, according to Thai Labour Ministry numbers.
