In an effort to stop the killing at the Siam Paragon shopping center on Tuesday, which resulted in two fatalities and five injuries, opposition MPs floated a number of public health proposals on Wednesday.
The proposals, according to Among & nbsp, were to hasten the implementation of a cell broadcasting alert system in order to improve public safety, said Parit Wacharasindhu, an MP for the main opposition Move Forward Party, following an audience in the House on Wednesday.
According to Mr. Parit, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission ( NBTC ) and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society( DES ) must take this action. He added that people in the shopping center relied on SMS emails from the private market and instructions posted on social media because they did not receive an evacuation notice from state.
According to him, a body television alert system should be implemented because it could issue prompt warnings and assist people in remaining safe in the event of emergencies like the shooting at the Tuesday mall.
Mr. Parit also called for a thorough examination of laws pertaining to firearms in order to limit access to them, intensify crackdowns on illegal firearm sales, and enhance background checks on gun owners.
The MP urged authorities to make sure those who were impacted by the firing horror received the required help.
The firing on Wednesday, according to Gp Capt. Anudit Nakornthap, deputy head of the Thai Sang Thai Party, called into question the possibility of amending the firearms command law’s enforcement.
He claimed that the law, which has been in effect for more than 76 years, needs to be updated and reviewed, particularly the area on transferring firearms to the owner’s heirs.
Gp Capt. Anudit stated that he anticipated the authorities to begin acting seriously. Every time a tragedy like this happens, he continued, talk about tighter gun regulations is brought up, but it is often put into practice.
He reiterated the phone for the nation to implement an emergency alert system, adding that it should also provide advice to the general public on how to stay healthy in times of emergency.
Tourism is a major economic website, so Gp Capt Anudit urged the government to regain public health among travelers.
