CHON BURI: Two men have been detained by police in connection with the theft of power cords from the Pattaya-Rayong bridge, which resulted in the interstate highway’s CCTV system being shut down last month.

Around 12.30 a.m. on Wednesday, bridge authorities detained Anulak Obchoo, 35, and Traiphop Buahom, 31, and nbsp in the Bang Lamung district’s tambon Huai Yai. The Pattaya Court issued arrest warrants with their names on them.

Police discovered around 40 kilograms of copper, 100-meter-long power cable lengths, and cable cutters at the house.

Police stopped a group from stealing wire from the Pattaya-Rayong highway in the Bang Lamung district’s tambon nong Prue late last month. A 38-year-old Lao man by the name of Xammao Boutakeo was detained. The people escaped.

The CCTV program shut down along the whole 32 kilometers of the Pattaya – Rayong( Map Ta Phut ) road, causing the crew to cause around 10 million ringgit in damage, according to police.

The two Thais were pointed at by the arrested Lao gentleman, who claimed they were his leaders.

According to Mr. Anulak, his gang stole electricity cable from the highways in the provinces of Chon Buri and Rayong on 50 times. They made approximately 20,000 baht each time they sold the metal in the cables to dispute shops.

According to authorities, another crew member was still at large.
