The cabinet on Tuesday accepted a six-year plan of action to prevent and cope with sexual harassment, because proposed by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Safety, government deputy spokeswoman Rachada Dhnadirek stated.

The master plan is based on opinions gained from networks of women’s affairs, local administrative bodies and other government agencies, intended for implementation by condition agencies in 2023.

State agencies will be duty-bound to change the attitude of society so people do not remain indifferent towards  the issue of rape plus sexual abuse. Effective mechanisms to monitor and stop sexual violence must be formulated. Safe locations and channels should be provided for people in order to lodge complaints about dangerous or unsafe locations.

To ensure justice, the rights and liberties associated with victims of sexual harassment must be protected. Sexual offenders must undergo a behavioural adjustment process. There must be a database associated with sexual offenders. Sex-related crime recidivists need to get high fines, including medicine meant for adjustment of hormone levels.

Laws and legal procedures should be amended to better protect the particular rights and liberties of damaged events in sexual assault cases. Government officials who commit sex harassment should be subject to serious disciplinary activity.

According to Ms Rachada, data of violence against children and females in 2021 showed that seven women reported being sexually harassed every day, typically.
