SINGAPORE:  , Mr Han Kok Juan, the director- general of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore ( CAAS ), has been appointed as the Returning Officer for Singapore’s elections.  ,
The Elections Department announced on Thursday ( Mar 28 ) that Mr. Han will take over the position starting on April 1.
He takes over from Mr Tan Meng Dui, CEO of the Housing and Development Board, who has been , the Returning Officer since February 2018.
The Prime Minister has appointed a public official to monitor the fair and efficient conduct of votes.
The Returning Officer also releases the benefits of an vote.
Singapore’s next General Election ( GE ) must be , called by November 2025.  ,
The Elections Department announced earlier this month that about 50, 000 people soldiers are anticipated to become appointed and trained to handle election, polling, and counting tasks in preparation for the upcoming General Election.  ,
