SINGAPORE: The Yun Nans restaurant outlet at , Northpoint City mall will be allowed to resume operations, more than two weeks after , Singapore Food Agency ( SFA ) issued a suspension following a case of mass food poisoning at ByteDance’s Singapore office.
A week after doing the same for Pu Tien Services, which also provided food to the TikTok owner’s office, SFA lifted the curb on Friday ( Aug 16 ).
Both restaurants ‘ operations were suspended on July 31 as a result of the event on July 30.
169 individuals who had eaten food provided by the two restaurants at ByteDance’s department at One Raffles Quay had reported diarrhea, according to reports from the Ministry of Health ( MOH) and SFA.
The 17 citizens who were hospitalised have all since been discharged.
During the expulsion time, Yun Hai Yao- which operates the Yun Nans ring of restaurants- disposed of all ready-to-eat foods, thawed food and fragile food items, said SFA.
It even cleaned and sanitised its grounds, including equipment and utensils, and cleaned food preparation surfaces, furniture and flooring.  ,
Food handlers have re-attended and passed a food safety course, while food hygiene officers have re-attended and passed the , Workforce Skills Qualifications ( WSQ ) conduct food &, beverage hygiene audit course, said the agency.
SFA will continue to closely track Yun Hai Yao to ensure that it adheres to food safety regulations after the expulsion has been lifted.
SFA did not hesitate to take enforcement action if it is determined that food technicians are in violation of food sanitary regulations and is taking the results of the investigations into the hepatitis outbreak into account, according to the company.
Offenders can be fined up to S$ 2, 000 ( US$ 1, 500 ) and, in the case of a continuing offence, fined a maximum of S$ 100 for every day or part thereof during which the offence continues after conviction.
