User of snack company insists sex was lawful, alleged sufferer semi- comatose in hospital

A merchant has been detained in Bangkok’s Pathumwan district on suspicion of reportedly raping a young woman who afterwards attempted to kill herself. She survived but with severe injury.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Bureau ( MPB) arrested Wachirawit ( surname withheld ),” Joe”, 42, the owner of a popular brand of banana snacks, at a luxury condominium on Soi Nai Lert off Phloenchit Road, Pol Maj Gen Theeradet Thumsuthee, investigative commander of the MPB, said on Thursday.
He was wanted on a March 20 permit from the Bangkok South Criminal Court charged with intruding on a person who was not a state of resisting, and nighttime intrusion.
A 29-year-old woman who lived in the Silom neighborhood reported to the arrest that the accused, who even owned a cannabis store close to her home, had broken into her home on March 13th. She claimed that when he forcedfully sexually abuses her, he appeared drunk when he entered her place. She made a valiant effort to retaliate.
The person then went into unconscious state, and when she woke up, she saw the man still sleeping on the pillow. She soon lodged a complaint at the Thung Mahamek police place.
According to authorities, the lady was crying, shaking and frightened when she arrived. Pol Capt Wiranchana Phaengkham, a feminine commander who was on duty at the time, tried to console the girl. More than six hours were spent on the investigation.
In an ostensible suicide attempt, the girl jumped from the third floor of a tower four days later. Her body fell to a ledge wall on the second floor, but she survived. Nevertheless, she has serious wounds and is in a semi- unconscious state.

According to Pol Maj Gen Theeradet, researchers learned that the believe was staying at a posh apartment in the Phloenchit neighborhood with his partner. In the building’s hall, they succeeded in detaining him.
During the incarceration, Mr Wachirawit denied all costs. He admitted to working abroad and having an established company of fruit snacks for export. He insisted he had no raped the girl, saying the intercourse was consensual.
He claimed that his present girl had just learned about his relationship with the woman when he was arrested. Authorities were not persuaded by his account, according to Pol Maj Gen Theeradet, who was also a Pol Maj.
The suspect was turned over to the Thung Mahamek authorities for legal actions.
The plaintiff has been unable to defend the situation or give additional information because she has sustained severe injuries as a result of her fall. However, the evidence she gave earlier to the feminine official while filing the complaint was important, said Pol Maj Gen Theeradet.
