Briton thanks Samui hotel staffer for returning lost wallet

Looking THANI: A resort employee returned the wallet he misplaced on Koh Samui during the New Year’s countdown, giving a European tourist the happy holiday memory of his trip home.

According to Pol Col Naruewat Phutthawiro, commander of Surat Thani immigration officers, Pakdee Trirat, an individual of the Holiday Inn Samui, discovered the bag on Bophut shore on December 31 during the clock celebrations on the holiday island.

Mr. Pakdee asked the emigration police for assistance in locating the wallet’s operator after bringing it to them along with credit cards and a driving license containing about 30 000 baht in Thai and other assets.

American national Paul Davies, 48, was residing in a rented home in tambon Mae Nam on Koh Samui, according to immigration officials who checked their data.

They invited him to come to their office to pick up his pocket from Mr. Pakdee after getting in touch with him through the home’s user.

Mr. Davies expressed his admiration for the hotel employee returning his bag, the hospitality of the Koh Samui residents, and the attention to detail shown by immigration officials.
