Bodies of 2 missing teachers found

The search for two women educators who jumped together off a bridge into a canal in Trat province on Tuesday has ended, with one body found on Tuesday night as well as the other on Wed morning.

Searchers on Wednesday found the body of Paweena Patnuson, 45, one kilometre downstream from the bridge throughout Bang Phra canal in Muang region about 7. 30am, police said.  

Paweena and 61-year-old outdated teacher Lakkhana Phanarot both  hopped off   the bridge in to the canal on Wednesday morning, leaving two farewell letters to their children inside a car parked on the link.

Paweena’s tearful son and other relatives confirmed it was her.  

On Tuesday night, rescuers and divers from the Sawangboon Chuaylua and the Sawang Katanyu rescue fundamentals found Lakkhana’s entire body in water  4-5 metres deep regarding 100 metres from Bang Phra link.

Each women taught on Nong Khansong School in Muang region of the eastern state.

These people left handwritten words explaining why these were taking their own life.  

In Paweena’s notice, she said the girl was bankrupt mainly because she had been scammed. She apologised to her two children, and also to those people she got borrowed money through.  

Both bodies had been sent for post-mortem examination.
