SINGAPORE: Blood donations in Singapore saw a 45 per cent increase right after health authorities appealed to get more donors of A+ and O+ bloodstream last week , mentioned Health Minister Ong Ye Kung upon Thursday (Jul 14).

More blood is still required, however , as the shares for all blood types are still not on healthy levels however, he added.

More than 1, seven hundred donors – representing all blood groups – stepped ahead to donate their blood over the past 4 days, said Mister Ong said within a Facebook post.

“This is a 45 per cent increase from our usual collection – a strong sign associated with unity and assistance from everyone, ” he said.

However , he additional that blood stocks and shares are “not on healthy levels yet”, with those for the negative blood organizations such as A-, B-, O- and AB- “currently running low”.

“So if you are an eligible blood donor, please come forwards, ” Mr Ong said.
