BANGKOK: US Admin of State Antony Blinken will pay a brief condolence visit to Japan following the assassination of previous Japanese prime ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Shinzo Abe , the State Department stated on Sunday (Jul 10).
Blinken will travel to Tokyo on Monday to pay his values to the former leader and meet with mature Japanese officials before returning to Washington from an Asian trip that he is now overall.
“Secretary Blinken will travel to Tokyo, Japan, to offer condolences to the Japanese individuals on the death associated with previous Prime Minister Abe Shinzo and to meet with mature Japanese officials, ” State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement. “The US-Japan Alliance may be the cornerstone of peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and has in no way been stronger. ”
Blinken is in Thailand on a pre-scheduled visit and had experienced Indonesia on Fri attending a Group of twenty nations’ foreign ministers meeting in Bali when Abe has been shot and wiped out. He will be the most senior US recognized to visit Japan within the aftermath of Abe’s death.
On Saturday in Bali, Blinken said Abe’s killing was a “tragedy” for the world and, like many other present and former US officials, lauded the previous prime minister for his vision.
“Prime Minister Abe was a transformative head, a statesman, somebody of truly worldwide stature, ” Blinken told reporters. He or she added that Abe’s death had shaken the G20 meeting with many of his foreign minister colleagues conveying shock and stress at the news.
