‘Big Chilli’ publisher Colin Hastings dies in car crash

Colin Hastings, a well-known American author and journalist, died in a vehicle crash in Bang Saray, Chon Buri, on Monday evening. He was 73.

Colin, the publication of the English-language lifestyle magazine Big Chilli, died when his car collided with a wall. He was declared dead at the scene of the incident at around 3.15pm because crisis companies were unable to revive him. There were no other deaths

Colin was a lengthy- time resident in Thailand, having arrived in the country in 1973.

After gaining some knowledge on Fleet Street, he moved on to work for the Bangkok Post for a while before starting his own publishing company, which included numerous travel magazines.

With his cheerful character, he became a famous figure in Bangkok’s firm lines.

He founded Big Chilli, which proved to be quite well-liked among foreigners, in 1991 as the first director of Thailand Tatler magazine.

Colin was a comprehensive athlete who frequently played sport for the Royal Bangkok Sports Club and British Club. Additionally, he was a top-ranked player in the country in pumpkin.

On Wednesday and Thursday at 6 p.m., funeral services will be held at Wat That Thong ( Sala 32 ), with a cremation ceremony scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m.
