A French tourist who went missing in the Pai area of Mae Hong Son state was discovered dead on Saturday, purportedly drowning in a nearby stream.
After being informed that Cloe Ferari, 28, had vanished while riding her vehicle, the Pai stop officers and rescue workers joined the tourist police on Friday.
A neighborhood native reported finding her vehicle parked along the route to the Mae Yen waterfall, which is located about 7 kilometers west of Pai town, after authorities made the announcement that they were looking for her.
Officials were only able to resume their research at 10am on Saturday because of heavy rains and forest discharge.
