Beijing says US media, politicians used balloon incident 'as pretext to smear China'

BEIJING:   Beijing said on Saturday (Feb 4) that will US media and politicians had used US allegations that China flew a good espionage balloon on the northwest United States.

The breakthrough of the balloon motivated US Secretary associated with State Antony Blinken on Friday in order to cancel a rare prepared trip to Beijing.

Moments before the decision to scrap the visit – targeted at easing tensions between the two countries – China issued a rare statement of repent and blamed winds for pushing what called a civilian airship into US airspace.

On Saturday, China’s international ministry released one more statement addressing Blinken’s announcement.

“China… never violated the particular territory and airspace of any sovereign country, ” this said.

“Some politicians and media in the United States used the (balloon) incident as a pretext to attack plus smear China. ”

The ministry said maintaining conversation channels at all levels was important, “especially in dealing with some unexpected situations in a relaxed and reliable manner”.
