Bangkokians are fattest Thais

More than 56 % of Bangkok residents are obese, which puts them at greater risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs ) than those who live in other provinces, according to Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsutin.

The minister discussed why Bangkok people have higher rates of diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease than people in other parts of the country when they unveiled the figures on Sunday during the start of an NCD function in Bangkok.

In Bangkok, according to a recent study, 56.1 % of people had abdominal obesity, compared to 39.4 % nationwide. Only 9.5 % of people in the country have diabetes, compared to 12.5 % of people in the capital and 12.5 % of people in the country.

NCD power has become a top priority for common health because it has an impact on both patient care and quality of life.
