
A concrete staircase renovated a fortnight before along the Vibhavadi Rangsit street in Bangkok collapsed as commuters were walking on it, drawing big criticism of government. No one was injured.  ,
Images recorded by a security camera on Sunday was posted by the Drama Addict Facebook page on Monday. It showed a gentleman and a person walking on the sidewalk in Payathai area. They immediately fell into a hole as the practical prevents collapsed.
The staircase was completed about a fortnight ago by the Department of Highways, the website said in another article showing pictures of the decline. The two walkers were never injured, it said.
Some netizens commented beneath the articles, saying it was very risky.
” You pedestrians sue any government companies for such an occurrence”? a post reads.
” If this happened to little kids or the old, it may cause serious traumas”, another says.
After the event was broadly shared on social media, representatives from Phayathai area company went to check the staircase on Monday as posted on its Facebook page.
The opening was 2.5 metres large, 3m longer and 1m strong, according to the office.
The place was cordoned off for repair and commuters ‘ health, the company said.
