More sophisticated AI devices are required to vigorate it

Traffic police have been waiting for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration ( BMA ) to install artificial intelligence security cameras to help them enforce a new speed limit that has been in place in Thailand’s capital for more than a month.
The BMA on Dec 23 adopted a novel speed limit of 60 km/h on most bridges in the capital, excluding major 13 main streets, and 50 km/h around the Grand Palace.
The 13 free routes are: Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Bang Na-Trat Road, Srinakarin Road, Phahon Yothin Road, Ram Intra Road, Ratchaphruek Road, Baromratchonnanee Road, Kanlapaphruek Road, Rom Klao Road, Suwinthawong Road, Chaengwattana Road, Rama III Road and Srinakarin-Rom Klao Road.
On the following 10 routes close to the Grand Palace, the speed control is then 50km/h, with an more” no honking of ears” requirement: Ratchadamnoen Nai Road, Na Phra That Road, Prachan Road, Na Phra Lan Road, Sanam Chai Road, Kalayana Maitri Road, Thai Wang Road, Maha Rat Road, Rachini Road and Setthakan Road.
The measure, according to Pol Maj Gen Thawat Wongsanga, assistant commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau in charge of customers, aims to reduce injuries and improve road safety, according to Pol Maj Gen Thawat Wongsanga in an appointment with the Bangkok Post. In the past, Bangkok allowed vehicles to pull at 80 km/h.
Reducing the rate to 50-60 km/h in the area is a big concern, he said.
” Among 195 countries, Bangkok belonged to the team that has not lowered the speed limit in the city, on line with Rwanda, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, San Marino, Bangladesh, and India. He added that our area has one of the highest rates of highway fatalities worldwide.
Reducing incidents
As a result, it needs a rules to minimize area rate. The higher the rate, the more likely an incident, he said. Additionally, according to the World Health Organization, an increase in average rate is directly related to both the magnitude of the crash’s effects and the likelihood of a fall.
The mean speed increases by 4 % in the fatal crash risk and by 3 % in the serious crash risk with every 1 % increase in mean speed.
The risk of dying for commuters who are struck by a vehicle traveling at 65 km/h is 4.5 times higher than if they are struck by a vehicle traveling at 50 km/h. At 65 km/h, collisions between vehicles can cause an up to 85 % mortality level.
However, many people are still to understand the advantages of slow rate, and they are against the new capital rate control, according to Pol Maj Gen Thawat, who added that “people want to understand the new rules may be enforced because people’s safety comes first.”
He said that a speed control of 50-60 km/h is ideal for Bangkok because various nations have adopted lower levels of 50 km/h or even lower.
AI monitors
Traffic police will use AI monitors to record traffic violations because there are not enough police to monitor every road. Tickets will be sent to the owner. Police also urged motorists to respect traffic rules.
Transportation police are still waiting for the BMA to deploy AI security cameras to include more of the capital’s population, according to a source, which indicates that the law’s enforcement is making slow progress.
Following a government decision in 2023, the Ministry of Education needs to develop a education for students to learn about road safety in addition to law enforcement.
Japan imparts road security knowledge to its citizens. When kids board buses, they will be aware of the emergency exit and how to safely cross the road, according to the cause. Ok, the Education Ministry has yet to work.
Wiwit Thongtongkham, a vehicle, said people prefer to drive their trucks because the public transportation system in Bangkok is bad.
” Having good public transportation that is cheap and extends out to every corner of the city is another way to help reduce road accidents. Then, he said, it will be difficult to persuade people to stop arguing about the new velocity restriction and to stop driving their cars.
