Since last week, park rangers, soldiers, officers, and participants have joined forces to find a tourist who has been missing in Uttaradit’s Phu Soi Dao National Park.
After Thanwarich Mateema was reported missing on Thursday, they defied heavy rain on Monday to continue searching in the area in the Nam Pad city.
The searchers have so far discovered only a backpack and shoes on a rocky trail, which the solo hiker has evidently abandoned.
About 50 searchers joined the activity, according to a report from the Ha Muang Force on Sunday, and the number was increased to 100 by the PR department on Monday.
Mr Thanwarich, 27, from Maha Sarakham, visited the park on Thursday. Because he registered while entering the garden but failed to show up at the office at the end of the mountain path the same day, area officers realized that he had gone missing.
His parents and other family members prayed for the search and rescue group to find him as they traveled from the northern state to the area.
