B20 city train fare to cabinet next week, early implementation

The government will review and approve the president’s 20 baht level fare plan for train travel in Bangkok on October 16 in order to implement it as soon as possible, according to Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit on Monday.

Mr. Suriya anticipated that the 20-baht level menu for the two roads would go into effect shortly after the cabinet meeting on October 16 rather than on December 1 as it had previously been approved by the State Railway of Thailand. He didn’t provide a more precise meeting. & nbsp,

Mr. Suriya stated that his initial plan was to bring the issue before the government this week. However, it would be the following year because Prime Minister Srettha Thavasin is traveling abroad.

Riders must pay with a credit card or ATM card in order to use the flat menu.

Now, the Red Line costs 12 – 42 ringgit, while the Purple Line charges 14 to 42.

The 23 km MRT Purple Line runs between Bang Sue and Khlong Bang Phai, while the 41 km SRT Red Line has 13 terminals connecting Taling Chan and Rangsit.
