B15.7m nabbed from dead man’s app

PHITSANULOK: A woman continues to be arrested for allegedly transferring 15. 7 million baht from the dead man’s bank account into her own via a mobile banking application, police said the other day.

Pol Lt Gen Akradej Pimolsri, the Provincial Police Region six commissioner, told reporters that Satang Thongramphan, 46, was caught on Sept one at her house in Muang region, following a complaint filed by Patiwat Thaisom, 31.

He accused Microsoft Satang of robbing a mobile phone owned by his father, a 56-year-old former financial institution employee who died on Aug 9, and helping himself to his money.

Police said that during wondering, Ms Satang said she had looked after the man while this individual underwent treatment intended for stomach cancer in a care centre in tambon Plai Chumpol in Muang district, Phitsanulok.

She used his mobile phone and his security password on a Krungthai Financial institution app to exchange money from his bank account to her personal TMB Thanachart Banking account 17 times in between Aug 9 and 16, totalling fifteen, 790, 000 baht.

The lady withdrew 3 mil baht from the girl bank account on August 21 and one more 12, 732, 654 baht on Aug 24.

She used some of the money to buy 10-baht weight of gold bullion and concealed 2 . 3 mil baht cash in the girl house and the remaining money in the rear of a car, police mentioned.

The lady was initially charged along with stealing under the Lawbreaker Code and violating the Computer Crime Act.
