Authorities have begun an exploration into land encroachment in Khao Yai National Park, promising to condemn all officials who work there. They also have pledged to acquire properties built on plots owned by impoverished farmers.

Thanadon Suwannarit, an advisor to Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Thamanat Prompow, and Theppasu Bavornchotidara, the Anti-Money Laundering Office’s ( Amlo ) secretary-general, met on Monday to discuss establishing a joint committee to combat graft in the agrarian sector.

A government investigation revealed that many farmers are breaking the laws governing the use of Sor Por Kor land close to the park’s boundaries, according to Mr. Thanadon. These crimes include the unlawful excavation of ground for business purposes and the sale of plots to individuals and/or organizations that are not permitted to occupy such plots.

He claimed that the government and Amlo are looking into ways to capture the qualities of those responsible for the Sor Por Kor plots ‘ unlawful use and/or exchange. He made reference to two officials from the Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima’s Pak Chong, known as the Agricultural Land Reform Office ( ALRO ), who are suspected of being involved in the illegal distribution of Sor Por Kor plots.

He stated that seven other leaders will be interrogated in connection with the situation and that arrest permits will soon be issued against the two officers. He claimed that the government discovered that three Sor Por Kor narratives are really held by a significant company.

He added that the government is working with Amlo to track the corporation’s financial transactions and that an investigation is being conducted.

He claimed that the police wo n’t have any political connections to the five farmers to whom the Sor Por Kor deeds were issued.

Vinaroj Sapsongsuk, Alro’s secretary-general, announced that Amlo may form a committee to work with the Office of Attorney-General, Royal Thai Police, the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission, and other organizations to facilitate the exchange of information. Additionally, Alro will assemble a list of Sor Por Kor document consumers for the public to see.

We will also establish a district-level sub-committee to motivate people ‘ input to ensure clarity in the inspection, according to Mr. Vinaroj.
