Thai PM meets US0,000 albino buffalo in ‘soft power’ push

Srettha Thavisin, the prime minister of Thailand, welcomed an unusual visitor to his office on Wednesday ( Mar 20 ), an enormous white buffalo that had recently sold for US$ 500,000.

The large cattle, known as the Ko Muang Phet, was a superstar creature in Thai gardening before making a comeback last month with its big-ticket sale and earned a trip to Government House to meet Srettha.

The four-year-old albino from northern Phetchaburi province weighs 1.4 tonnes, nearly three times more than the regular buffalo, at 1.8 meters.

Srettha, who is no short at 1.92m, went head to head with the winged brand in front of Government House.

‘Allah’ socks furore: Malaysian king calls for stern action, says religious blunders ‘unacceptable’

Indonesian prince Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has demanded that strict action be taken against those responsible for the blunder in light of the controversy surrounding the sale of boots in the country that bear the term” Allah.”

In a Facebook post on Tuesday ( Mar 19 ), Sultan Ibrahim stated in a message to the public that “whether this incident was intentional or not, ( and ) whether the socks were imported or produced in local factories, I want the authorities to investigate and take stern action in accordance with the law so that such matters do not repeat itself.

He added:” The phrase ‘ Allah’ is revered by all Muslims. However, we are already in the month of Ramadan. Therefore, there should n’t have been any incidents that could cause resentment.

The contentious boots were discovered earlier this week in a number of KK Super Mart locations.
