Govt considers new subsidy for gig riders

In an effort to help reduce operating expenses in the public transportation business, the government is thinking about implementing a new stage of the gas cost subsidy scheme for motorcycle-taxi drivers.

The Department of Energy Business has created a schedule for the application of the energy cost payment initiative, which has been forwarded to the Ministry for review, according to Prasert SinsukprasERt, permanent minister for energy, who made the announcement monday.

According to Mr. Prasert, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga have the power to review the 600 million baht estimated account without the commission’s approval.

Prasert: The bank won’t require a case nod.

Eventually, when the ministry has finished finalizing them, more information about the project will be made public, he added.

In the initial phase of the project, 106, 655 motorcycle-taxi drivers received a 50 % co-payment for their energy costs after demonstrating that they were properly licensed by the Department of Land Transport as of March 22 of last year.

The rebate program, which was put into effect between May and July of last year, had a maximum monthly cap of 250 ringgit per person.

The state also waived income taxes for the riders as part of the project, which at the moment incurred a administrative burden of 79.99 million baht.

The drawn-out process of renewing a driving license while receiving the payment was one drawback noted in the application of the project’s initial phase.

However, solutions have asserted that these issues were probably resolved before any new salary.

Thais ‘at risk’ in 2 countries

Thai people living or traveling abroad have been forewarned by the Thai diplomats in France and Morocco to stay away from crowded public areas and unneeded trips into tourist areas due to the increased risk of a terrorist attack connected with the Israel-Hamas war.

These locations are thought to be more vulnerable to such an assault, should it happen.

All Thais currently living in Africa were urged to exercise more caution and try to avoid congested places when leaving by the Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat, Morocco, on Saturday.

According to a statement posted on the ministry’s Facebook account, the warning is for the coming year and includes not only locations in Morocco but likewise Tunisia and Mauritania.

The consulate cited media reports of potential gatherings related to the anticipated Israel-Hamas conflict in these three nations as a factor that might increase the likelihood of additional criminal activity.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Paris issued a similar notice yesterday in response to this one. It was meant for all Thai nationals who resided in France and traveled there.

The alert came after the French government decided to issue the nation’s highest level of counter-terrorism notice in response to an attacker who fatally stabbed a professor and critically injured two others on Friday in Arras, north France.

According to French officials, the Israel-Hamas conflict is connected to the university attack.

Following the attack, thousands of visitors from the Louvre in Paris were evacuated on Saturday after gallery staff received a written danger.

The Louvre Museum was shut down for safety reasons on the same day that 7,000 soldiers were mobilized for increased inspections.

Pheu Thai reaffirms digital wallet scheme will go ahead

Pheu Thai reaffirms digital wallet scheme will go ahead
At an election campaign protest in Nonthaburi on April 5, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announces Pheu Thai’s 10,000-baht online budget plan. ( Photograph: Chatpattarasill, Patrapong)

The frequently criticized 10, 000 ringgit online income handout plan won’t be suspended, according to the ruling Pheu Thai Party, which also stated that all last information will be made public by the end of this month.

According to Treechada Srithada, a lieutenant Pheu Thai representative,” the project’s fundamental principles didn’t change while some specifics and conditions may be adjusted.”

Srettha Thavisin, the prime minister and finance minister, and his lieutenant Julapun Amornvivat had previously pledged to carry out the plan while the state got ready to launch, she said.

As for the cause of the 560 billion baht fund needed for this project, she continued, the committee in charge of implementing it would immediately provide answers to a number of frequently asked questions.

She claimed that Pheu Thai has consistently upheld tight economic and budgetary discipline, a tradition that dates back to the time when the group was known as Thai Rak Thai.

She disputed the claim that the ruling party was merely being stubborn about the widespread release and claimed that before introducing it as one of the party’s main economic stimulus policies, a group of experts carefully investigated its viability. & nbsp,

The 10,000 000 ringgit digital money initiative is comparable to the economy’s” treatment.” She claimed that it would virtually” create a storm” of monetary stimulus. ” Companies may have better profitability while consumers have more buying power.” As a result, more work will be created, and the economy— which has been stagnant for decades— will bounce back and become stable.

However, Ramet Rattanachaweng, a spokesman for the Democratic Party, exhorted the administration to pay close attention to opposing viewpoints regarding the digital currency project.

According to Mr. Ramet, Mr Srettha has so far been unable to adequately describe the project’s planned application, especially the source of the funding required for it.

In addition, the PM has not specified how much the project may really boost the economy in comparison to the prices it is likely to bring about.

Don’t just dismiss the opinions of the various parties commenting on this project as ridiculous, especially those of economists and subject-matter experts, he said.

” They mean well and are very concerned about the country’s total situation.”
