Police identify third warden in case of convict who escaped

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: On October 22, police will detain a third prison warden who is allegedly involved in the release of Chaowalit Thongduang, alias” Sia Paeng Nanod ,” an inmate, from the hospital.

Weerachai Nuduang of Nakhon Si Thammarat Central Prison was given an arrest warrant by the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases on Friday nights. According to municipal police commander Pol Maj Gen Somchai Suetortrakul, he was charged under Section 157 of the Criminal Code, which deals with dereliction of duty.

A time prior to Chaowalit’s medical escape, Mr. Weerachai is said to have altered his constraints. In the case, he is the fourth governor to appear before an arrest warrant.

Chaowalit, 37, was incarcerated for attempted death when he escaped from Maharat Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital on October 22. He was taken for medical care and later admitted after collapsing due to back pain that had been reported. He’s still out there.

Two prison wardens — Warinthorn Thongprachong, 41, and Ekkalak Chaiyakarn, 35 — were charged with dereliction of duty in connection with Chaowalit’s escape and had their arrest warrants approved by the court on Friday.

Pol Maj Gen Somchai was contacted by Mr Warinthorn and Mr. Ekkalak yesterday morning via their attorney to surrender, according to authorities.

According to police, Mr. Weerachai’s second arrest warrant has been submitted, and his superior will order him to turn himself in.

According to the authorities, seven defendants who reportedly assisted Chaowalit in escaping have been detained.

The Phatthalung Provincial Court last month gave Chaowalit a 20-year, six-month prison term for attempted murder in connection with an armed assault on police on September 2, 2019, in the state.

In January 2022, he started serving his sentence at Phatthalung Prison, and on August 7, that incarceration was changed to Nakhon Si Thammarat Prison.

Looking beyond child rearing

The state needs to think outside the box when it comes to the delivery charge.

Countries all over the world struggle with a drop in delivery costs, and Thailand is no exception. Thailand’s average delivery charge from 1963 to 1983 was roughly 1 million per year. The overall number of newborn infants decreased to 502, 107( the lowest in 71 times ) by the year 2022, while the suicide rate was 595, 965.

Sustarum: Take Scandinavian lessons.

The total fertility rate( TFR ) should be at least 2.1 children per woman in order to maintain the demographic scale of the nation. Thailand’s annual TFR was roughly 6.1 births per woman in the 1960s, but over the past ten years, it has dramatically decreased to 1.4 – 1.5.

Although the government has implemented initiatives to increase the nation’s baby price, they have not yet been successful.

The Public Health Ministry just unveiled its new initiatives to promote increased childbearing among lovers. To help couples who have problems with duplication, one must open at least one fertility clinic in each province.

Cholnan Srikaew, the minister of public health, added that the government is thinking about promoting a express welfare program that extends parental leave for couples or increases child support payments from 600 to 3, 000 baht per month.

But, Assoc Prof. Sustarum Thammaboosadee, a professor at the College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Thammasat University, cautioned the Bangkok Post that increased state support for child rearing might not always lead to higher delivery costs.

It is unquestionably beneficial to the public to support state-funded childbearing policies, especially if the ministry can include fertility services in the Universal Coverage Scheme ( UCS ) or social security coverage. Nevertheless, he claimed that there are factors outside of state security that motivate people to have children.

Fewer persons, no issue

According to Assoc Prof. Sustarum, birth rates have decreased over time even in nations with robust social security systems, like Nordic nations.

The 2022 TFR is 1.6 births per person in Norway, 1.7 in Denmark, and 1.8 in Sweden thanks to well-supported parenting tools, such as paid maternal leave, subsidised childcare and care facilities.

Despite having a smaller population, the Norwegian market is more robust than that of many other regions of Europe.

This could serve as a wake-up call for Thailand to embrace cutting-edge technologies like automation and artificial intelligence to take the place of labor in some sectors, like the agricultural and manufacturing sectors.

According to Assoc Prof. Sustarum, world is shifting to financial models that no longer heavily rely on population growth as fewer babies are born.

He asserted that having fewer kids and older kids is not always a bad thing. In reality, emotionally and financially responsible parents frequently have a better handle on child raising.

Assoc Prof. Sustarum stated that Thai laws governing borrowing by same-sex people should also be taken into consideration, in addition to encouraging heterosexual couples to have more children.

He expressed his opinion that” taking care of live births in our land regardless of their status is no less crucial than encouraging society to reproduce.”

A shift in norms

The growing pattern of childlessness may be accelerated by monetary constraints that prevent young people from affording to raise children. Even those who are eager to have children still think that state-subsidized care is necessary.

The National Institute of Development Administration ( Nida ) released a survey titled” Let’s Have Children” on October 1st that looked into how people felt about having children.

65.1 % of the 1,310 respondents said that free training up to the college degree is the most desired form of state security for encouraging people to have children, and 63.6 % said they want a child support give until their kids turn 15 years old.

Even so, a lot of people today choose to live differently so they can pursue higher education, go job hunting, or travel the globe without worrying about their kids.

Individuals may have had children in the past to complete their marriages. Lifelong values were associated with caregiving or giving birth to a baby. It is very diverse today. Being a parent may determine the meaning of life for some groups of people. However, for many more, living in a nation where they are guaranteed justice and equitable wealth distribution may allow them to live fulfilling lives, which is also of great importance, according to Assoc Prof. Sustarum.

He claimed that if Thailand can change its socioeconomic scale in line with its declining population size, worries about a large labor force or declining productivity will go away. ” If citizen welfare is properly taken care of, the nation’s economy will grow.”

A related growth is that the range of Thai employees who have expressed a desire to return home has significantly decreased, leading to the closure of the Thai embassy in Tel Aviv’s evacuation center.

Since October 15, 35 departure airlines have taken location, and the house in Tel Aviv was shut down after the last flight left on Friday, according to a statement made by the embassy on its Facebook page.

It stated that Thai workers who have been repatriated may provide their airfare tickets for departure to their Thai employment office in order to be reimbursed.

The final departure trip, run by the Israeli aircraft Arkia, arrived at Suvarnabhumi air-port on Friday night with 90 Thai passengers, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the statement, removal flights will now be made available based on how many Vietnamese workers are willing to go to Tel Aviv to board a trip.

However, according to Pairote Chotikasathien, permanent director of the Ministry of Labor, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has approved a support offer of 50, 000 baht each for Thai workers who have returned home, along with an additional 15, 000 rupees from the outside workers’ account.

According to Mr. Pairote, there are now about 700 Siamese employees who have registered to work in Israel but are unable to do so due to the conflict.

I bid you a sad goodnight.

Envoys to promote local projects

Kingdom observes fresh monetary expansion

Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, the foreign affairs minister, did urge Thai ambassadors all over the world to encourage foreign businessmen to contribute to the nation’s projects, particularly its land bridge task, in order to increase domestic financial prosperity.

Mr. Parnpree stated on Friday andnbsp that the government is using” economic diplomacy” to spur new growth and increase investor confidence at an event called” Thailand Next Move 2024: The Next Wealth and Sustainability.”

In order to discuss how to use economic diplomacy to draw in foreign investors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did so extend an invitation to all Thai ambassadors serving abroad to a meeting in Bangkok.

The meeting is scheduled for November 20 – 24, according to a source from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, according to Mr. Parnpree, has emphasized the significance of this meet with representatives of significant global corporations in order to persuade them to make investments in the nation.

According to him, Thailand’s newfound prosperity may be influenced by the global environment, in which many strong nations compete for influence in politics, business, and technology.

This gives Thailand a chance to express its position in the midst of the world’s monetary unrest, he said.

Thailand’s new economic growth strategy, which will begin the following year, is broken down into three sections, with” Green Growth” serving as one to provide access to funding resources and financial solutions for those reducing greenhouse gas emission production processes.

The other two are” Community-based Growth” to give small and medium-sized businesses access to funding sources and” Innovation-driven Growth,” which uses technology to add product and service value.

Thailand may engage in economic diplomacy to interact with allies around the world in order to achieve these objectives, according to Mr. Parnpree, a deputy prime minister.

” Banks and financial institutions may play a significant part in advancing these ideas and fostering economic growth in Thailand’s neighboring nations.”

The government will also use financial diplomacy to look for opportunities in the online economy, create new-generation business owners, and attract foreign investment.

To increase Thailand’s imports, Mr. Parnpree stated that the government would hasten the free trade agreement conversations.

In order to expand trade and investment opportunities, it will also collaborate with colleagues under the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, Mr. Parnpree added.

According to Mr. Parnpree, Chumphon and Ranong provinces may become Thailand’s main draw in luring other nations to engage in fair industry thanks to the land gate project, which aims to connect the Gulf of Thailand with the Andaman Sea.

According to him, the project will create Thailand a crucial operational link with other nations.

Govt adjusts rule on meth possession

According to the Public Health Ministry, a person who owns no more than five crank pills may be considered to use drugs rather than to trade them. This is based on the findings of an inquiry by relevant parties.

The sum was determined based on thorough research on economic, social, and health problems, according to Dr. Kittisak Aksornwong, acting assistant permanent secretary of the ministry.

In the past, people who had 10 tablets or fewer were regarded as drug users. Now, if the term is accepted, someone who has more than five pills may be categorized as a trader.

He claimed that after much deliberation, the specialists came to the conclusion that someone who has five or fewer heroin pills or less should be regarded as a drug user who requires medical attention.

Data from the Department of Mental Health, Food and Drug Administration, authorities, and relevant agencies were used to inform the choice.

He claimed that taking more than 55 miligrammes of methamphetamine can cause users to develop SMI-V ( Serious Mental Illness with High Risk of Violence ) by citing medical data from Ramathibodi Hospital.

He added that public sessions will be held before the finish is sent to the case for approval. The conclusion will then be submitted for review by the public health minister. If approved, the Office of the Council of State may issue a ministerial rules statement.

The ministry has asked academics, anti-drug organizations, and associated departments to determine the maximum number of meth pills one person may own before being labeled a dealer.

A parliamentary smokescreen

A parliamentary smokescreen
Will not just hit ankles, Parit

Critics claim that the main opposition Move Forward Party ( MFP) is getting ready to grill the government in a general discussion that could divert attention away from its own dirty laundry.

The MFP has, for the first time, exercised an opposite side’s power, vested in it by the law, after first being anxious to lead the opposite axis.

A standard argument against the federal has been proposed by the party, and it is scheduled to begin early the following year. The televised assault played out in congress promises to put the government on the defensive and perhaps get it in hot water if cabinet ministers fall short of providing clear answers to questions, even though the session never cause any significant harm to the somewhat younger administration since it does not necessitate a no-confidence vote.

Before the May 14 general vote, a public debate was held for the last moment. The Pheu Thai Party, which at the time considered the MFP to be its closest friend, led an antagonism that staged it.

Opponents dismissed the discussion as a fictitious extension of an electoral campaign meant to discredit the coalition parties, led by the Palang Pracharath Party( PPRP ), before the general election.

A common debate can be dangerous to a authorities if it is conducted properly, and the earlier one may have contributed to the decline in popularity experienced by the Prayut Chan-o-cha administration, where the PPRP and United Thai Nation Party affiliated with it were ultimately defeated in the election, finishing in fourth and fifth places, both.

According to watchers, the MFP is holding another public discussion this time in an effort to regain some favorable attention as the proponent of checks and balances and lessen the impact of current allegations of sexual harassment and aggressive behavior against its members.

The very contentious 10, 000-baht digital wallet system, promoted by Pheu Thai, the current ruling party, which may also be the government’s weak point, is likely to become the focus of the discussion.

All over the age of 16 is eligible to receive digital currency through the program, which is estimated to cost at least half a trillion baht to fund.

Pheu Thai contends that the plan, which has been criticized by critics as one of the nation’s biggest wasteful stunts, will unleash an economic stimulus storm for a nation that is in desperate need of an immediate and comprehensive post-pandemic healing.

Although it may be inclined to evaluate the registration of electronic wallet recipients to micro-target those who need it the most, such as low-income earners and the old, Pheu Thai has steadfastly stood its ground despite growing skepticism and openly opposition from experts.

The MFP, which is currently Pheu Thai’s direct competitor, might end up watching the system ‘ popularity decline if it is successful.

According to the observers, the MFP is anticipated to launch a pre-emptive strike against Pheu Thai and divert attention from its own mess during the upcoming public debate.

Perhaps some of its own followers had apparently criticized the MFP for taking too long to respond to damning accusations made against specific group members and MPs over their behavior.

One of them, Prachin Buri MP Wuttiphong Thonglour, is currently the subject of a problem brought by militant Srisuwan Janya with the National Counter Corruption Commission for an alleged violation of MP morality. He was charged with sending improper text messages to the young woman.

Mr. Wuttiphong denies engaging in any illegal activity.

The party executive board suddenly broke its silence on Thursday and declared that Mr. Wuttiphong would be fired.

A renowned separate architect and social beliefs pro named Kittithat Chaiprasit had previously forewarned that MFP silence could be a ticking time bomb for the party in both the short and long terms.

In reference to Mr. Wuttiphong, he claimed that the MP had not apologized or shown any shame before blaming the victim. The situation seemed to be about someone trying to turn” black into white ,” he said, adding salt to the wound.

Party official Parit Wacharasindhu stated that party executives were busy looking into the matter as pressure on the MFP increased and assured them that there wouldn’t be any wrist-slapping.

The official made it clear the MFP does not support cover-ups, admitting the group has been troubled by sexual abuse statements against some members.

According to Mr. Parit, the party’s executive board looked into two prior cases and punished the parties — one for a fight and the other for sexual harassment. The latter was expelled by the group.

Is she on to advance further?

Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the head of the Pheu Thai Family, was recently elected as the party’s head, which has sparked a lot of speculation. Some think this will set her up to become prime minister later in the year.

Spectators claim that the rumor that Thaksin Shinawatra’s youngest child, who is currently imprisoned, might become prime minister is not without cause.

Paetongtarn: Trying to land a major work?

Ms. Paetongtarn, who is regarded as being the politically active of her sisters, has served in politics for two years and collaborated strongly with group members on the most recent election campaign. She ran for excellent minister for the party as well.

She has also been chosen to participate in the national committees on soft power development and plan. The position is also widely regarded as preparing the 37-year-old newbie for a long-term political career.

However, the rumors that Ms. Paetongtarn will become prime minister cast doubt on the current leader, Srettha Thavisin, who, according to the spectators, only recently took office.

The electronic wallet coverage, which is widely regarded as a timebomb for him and his management, is the subject of numerous inquiries from the prime minister, who is also the finance minister.

The program, which was immediately scheduled to go into effect in February of next year, could be moved to September instead of being made available to everyone over the age of 16, regardless of their financial situation.

Due to concerns that a common giveaway might weaken financial control, he or she has recommended restrictions on the distribution of digital cash based on income or savings in order to lower the amount needed to fund the plan.

The Bhumjaithai, Palang Pracharath, and United Thai Nation events, Pheu Thai’s key coalition partners, are rumored to not fully support the plan to entice voters during the election plan.

Additionally, senators who rejected Mr. Srettha’s election in the prime ministerial voting will closely examine the online budget scheme from a variety of sectors.

Speak of Ms. Paetongtarn leading the nation can also be attributed to Mr. Srettha, who, according to observers, has spoken very of her ever since she entered politics.

Mr. Srettha made people laugh just before the Oct. 27 party leadership conference when he responded to a writer who addressed him as” Prime Minister.” Which one, Mr. Srettha asked? There are two officials in power.

The comment was made by Mr. Srettha while he was directing cabinet ministers to watch the critically acclaimed film Sap-Pa-Rer ( The Undertaker ).

It is understood that Ms. Paetongtarn, who joined Mr. Srettha at the movie screen to show government policy on promoting soft power growth, was the” other excellent secretary” he was referring to.

Mr. Srettha was one of the well-wishers who gathered at the conference on October 27 to thank Ms. Paetongtarn on her new position. Many people thought back to the movie comment and wondered if Mr. Srettha might resign but Ms. Paetongtarn can take his place shortly after a popular photo in which he appeared to kiss her hand went viral.

Social science teacher Yutthaporn Issarachai, a professor of political science at Sukhothani Thammathirat Open University, doesn’t think Ms. Paetongtarn will take office as prime minister anytime soon.

He thinks Ms. Paetongtarn’s established ascent to the position of leader of Pheu Thai will help her get ready for a run for prime minister following the upcoming general election. If it happens sooner, it will be after the midterm of Mr. Srettha’s leadership in 2025.

However, Mr. Yutthaporn asserts that a change will have an effect on political stability and that Pheu Thai may be hesitant to switch” animals in the middle of the battle” unless absolutely necessary.

” How may Pheu Thai be certain that the allies of the partnership won’t desert it and change their loyalties?” Without any guarantees that a Pheu Thai applicant will be elected, I don’t believe the party will take the chance of changing the prime minister, he said.

But he thinks that the digital wallet system will determine the fate of the Pheu Thai-led government and of Mr. Srettha. If it can’t be implemented, the prime minister will be the one who suffers second, and the Pheu Thai Party’s achievement in the upcoming election is probably doomed.

Mr. Yutthaporn is confident that Pheu Thai may continue with the plan and make significant changes to lessen the financial stress incurred and guarantee that it completely complies with laws and regulations.
