To encourage economic growth, the government has pledged to host a Formula 1 ( F1 ) racing competition in Thailand.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra stated in a blog on X on Saturday that the state is continuing its conversations to host an F1 race competition in Thailand as a part of a proposal to increase tourism.

She stated that the government will do everything in its power to secure an event given that this proposal did draw people, be exciting, and help to expand and improve cities.

” It may take new money, stimulate the economy and promote Thailand as a world-class destination”, she wrote.

In the year-end time, the government intends to establish a number of hospitality advertising campaigns with the goal of a profit increase of 7.5 %.

Karom Phonphonklang, assistant state spokesman, said Saturday the Ministry of Tourism and Sports was planning to improve the country’s tourism through the “72 Styles of Happiness to Knowledge” campaign, which includes an e-book featuring must-do activities at different destinations along Thailand’s 72 noted routes.

The list of actions offers a fresh perspective on Thailand with each course providing a checklist of” Five Must-Do” actions, namely local food to taste, adventurous activities to consider, unique items to buy, scenic perspectives to look for and local lifestyles to encounter, he said.

Five bloggers will likewise produce go videos that highlight their travel experiences across various routes to pique visitor interest for the year-end and keep the momentum going into the following year, he said.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand is also revealing” Indian attraction” and must-see cities in the country, he said, to promote go across Thailand’s five areas.

According to Mr. Karom, the initiative aims to promote sustainable tourism while increasing year-round travel frequency and visitor spending in several provinces.

Govt under pressure over maritime MoU

Thailand is still obscured by the contentious Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) signed in 2001 with Cambodia to develop portions of an OCA and establish a maritime boundary.

The OCA, which covers an area of about 26, 000 sq miles in the Gulf of Thailand, is believed to be rich in fossil energy sources.

A Thailand-Cambodia joint technical committee (JTC ) must be established to discuss the maritime border demarcation and joint development under the MoU.

Since then, there have been numerous discussions, but none have made any progress, primarily because neither has accepted the other’s regional state.

The Pheu Thai-led administration’s plan to restart trade with Cambodia has skepticism, mostly due to Thaksin Shinawatra’s close ties with former prime minister Hun Sen’s recent visit to Bangkok, which has heightened concerns about the contentious MoU.

Calls for scrapping the MoU are then intensifying, pointing to Cambodia’s 1972 say to half of Koh Kut in Trat state.

Reviewers say the state contradicts the 1907 French-Siamese agreement, rendering the MoU itself illegitimate. But, Cambodian Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra stated that a JTC may be established by the middle of this quarter to continue negotiations under the 2001 MoU.

Social experts were asked to comment on the MoU, asking whether it might destabilize the coalition government.

Additionally, they discussed the significance of Pheu Thai, especially given how influential Thaksin is in influencing the public’s desire to begin discussions.

Struggles from the start

Panitan Wattanayagorn, an intellectual in security and foreign relations, said the 2001 MoU has faced criticism from the start, especially about how the procedure was rushed when compared with various agreements.

He claimed that a straightforward memo rather than a binding contract was needed. He claimed that the government may clarify this because it is still not clear whether it specifies obligations for Thailand to follow.

The obligations may be eliminated, according to the researcher, regardless of whether the limit or the posting of marine resources is reached earliest or whether they are treated as one package.

” Critics claim it will result in a loss of territory, but if that’s not the case, the government must clarify what the obligations are, address the implications of Cambodia’s territorial claim and resolve them so the document does n’t impose obligations and the talks can proceed”, he said.

The MoU will turn into a political hot corn, he claimed, noting that congress may later need to withdraw it in order to ease tensions.

He suggested that starting discussions with Cambodia would help to reduce conflicts with the neighboring nation.

Since the Preah Vihear debate, which offers an opportunity for both sides to solve contentious problems, Thai-Cambodian relationships have improved, according to Mr. Panitan.

Thaksin’s suggestion that the government hold talks is unfavorable because improving relations there a good chance, but political parties are turning this chance into a crisis, he said.

Mr. Panitan warned that if the MoU’s problems become as pernicious as they have been in the past, sensitive issues will probably continue to be unsettled.

He refrained from speculating about whether the case may be decided before the International Court of Justice. Furthermore, he said that for a test to resume, both parties may consent to join.

The researcher cited Cambodia’s geographical claim to half of Koh Kut as the most difficult part of the MoU, saying that it is unconstitutional.

Mr. Panitan likewise demanded clarification from government organizations that support the MoU about how repealing it would be bad for the nation.

What’s at play

Wanwichit Boonprong, a lecturer in Rangsit University’s social science program, pleaded with the government to provide any scientific evidence supporting the claims that the combined development agreement could have a potential economic value of 2.2 trillion baht. He said the prime minister’s comfort only that Koh Kut belongs to Thailand is inadequate.

While the majority of the populace doubts Koh Kut’s position, he said there are growing concerns about Cambodia’s ability to share its maritime resources and whether Thailand might suffer as a result.

” States about the 2.2 trillion-baht economic benefit have yet to be confirmed by any state agency, leading to debate that we may be at a disadvantage”, he said.

Additionally, according to Mr. Wanwichit, Thaksin’s strong ties to Cambodia and his influence over the Pheu Thai-led authorities have increased open skepticism.

He claimed that because the country’s main state party is unaffiliated with Thaksin, the relationship between Thailand and Cambodia is frequently thought to be unstable.

” The people want to know who has the greatest chance of gaining from the use of coastal assets.” They also want to be assured that]Thailand ] will not be disadvantaged. If the government ca n’t address this, it will fuel political tension”, he said.

The state coalition partners, he said, may acquire a “wait-and-see” approach before making a move. He noted that these controversial issues may undermine the security of the government because of the growing opposition to the visit of a political consultant as the Bank of Thailand’s chairman.

Phichai Ratnatilaka Na Bhuket, project director for politics and enhancement method at the National Institute of Development Administration, echoed Mr Wanwichit’s comments regarding common beliefs about the Thaksin-Hun Sen marriage.

There is a chance that the conversations may succeed, he claimed, if the MoU is reviewed and revised. He emphasized, however, that to avoid conflicts from rising, the state must take immediate action.

Social plan

Noppadon Pattama, a former foreign affairs minister and Pheu Thai Party list member, claimed the coalition government is in charge of the discussions with Cambodia and not just Pheu Thai itself.

He said the agreements will be handled by the JTC, which includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ‘ Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, the Energy Ministry and the military, no Thaksin, and that during the Prayut state, the conversations were revived under the MoU model.

Mr. Noppadon noted that if the parties are cooperating in good terms, negotiations can usually go smoothly, but that the environment is less important than the outcomes, which must be in line with international law. He argued that the MoU’s problems should not be politicized because the consequences may threaten both the security of the government and national security.

Asked about the Palang Pracharath Party’s call for the renewal of the MoU, he shot up, asking why Gen Prawit Wongsuwon, then president of the PPRP, chaired the JTC for eight years and failed to take actions.

” Thais, regardless of their political connections, love their country. It’s time to speak the truth and the reality, not just the legal details. Prevent discrediting people because it threatens both national security and the government, he urged.

Mr. Noppadon argued that Thailand had not acknowledged Cambodia’s geographical claim to the eastern half of Koh Kut and that their maritime claims would remain unaffected if negotiations broke down. Cambodia made its first state in 1972, which Thailand rejected. The next month, Thailand made its suit.

Mr. Noppadon said the falsehood that he had given over the Preah Vihear Temple to Cambodia while serving as foreign minister is reminiscent of the false information about possible country damage.

Surakiart Sathirathai, the then-foreign secretary, and Cambodia’s Sok An, the energy affairs minister, signed the MoU while the Thaksin state was in power. It was described by the next state as a “very important street” for assistance in oils.

In addition to the PPRP, Thai Pakdee Party chair Warong Dechgitvigrom just launched a petition to collect 100,000 names in support of the 2001 MoU.

Two pandas to arrive in Thailand from China by 2027

According to permanent secretary Jatuporn Buruspat, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment ( MNRE ) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) regarding the bringing back two pandas from China in the new year.

Yesterday, Mr. Jatuporn shared an upgrade on the status of the Chinese government’s discussions involving the moving of giant panda from China to Chiang Mai Zoo.

The MNRE’s work, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been making steady progress, he said.

He added the government plans to construct a new dwelling place for the penguins, larger than the previous 6, 250-square-metre air-conditioned wall. Chinese may receive design information.

By 2027, according to Mr. Jatuporn, the two panda will be arriving at Chiang Mai Zoo. ” We did an excellent job caring for Xuang Xuang and Lin Hui, which produced sons, Lin Bing. He added that the new penguins may act as goodwill ambassadors to mark Thailand’s 50th anniversary of Chinese-Chinese relationships.

In 2003, China agreed to payment two penguins, Xuang Xuang and Lin Hui, to Thailand’s Chiang Mai Zoo. In 2009, the couple produced a feminine kid named Lin Bing and attracted over 7 million visitors. Xuang Xuang passed away in 2019 at the age of 19, and Lin Hui died in 2023 at 21, both at Chiang Mai Zoo.

Their descendants, Lin Bing, was returned to Chengdu, China, in 2013. She is currently rumored to be the mummy of seven.

Thai deputy PM makes case for Cambodia deal

In response to a dispute over the 2001 deal, Phumtham visits Koh Kut to clear up sovereignty concerns.

TRAT- On Saturday, the authorities reiterated that Thailand’s memorandum of understanding ( MoU) with Cambodia serves as a means of safeguarding its best objectives while insisting that it has no other claim to control Koh Kut in this eastern state.

While on the island, Deputy Minister Phumtham Wechayachai tempered concerns that the agreement, signed while Thaksin Shinawatra was in power, might lead to Thailand losing its sovereignty over the island and the overlapping claims area ( OCA ) in the Gulf of Thailand.

Thai Pakdee Party chair Warong Dechgitvigrom, a vocal supporter of the Thaksin package, visited the island to pressurize the government to end it the same day.

He aims to obtain 100, 000 petitions to support his plea to have the MoU nullified. The government claims that ending it formally was threaten Cambodian relations.

The Palang Pracharath Party, headed by Gen Prawit Wongsuwon, has even called for the renewal of the MoU. ( see Graphic at end of story ).

According to Mr. Phumtham, who is also the defense chancellor,” I think those who live on the island are also assured that the area belongs to Thailand.”

He claimed that the government is trying to explain the information in light of the confusion caused by rumors and false information spread by ultra-nationalists about the MoU and Koh Kut.

” Certainly, Koh Kut has belonged to Thailand for a long, long time. He claimed that there are both Thai residents and authorities buildings.

” This issue has been used for social purposes.”

The most effective tool for negotiations over sea gains should be conducted based on both countries ‘ satisfaction, according to MoU. It serves to protect Thailand’s best pursuits, and it is the most effective tool for these conversations. ” &nbsp,

In the following two weeks, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra announced the formation of a Joint Technical Committee to initiate negotiations over the sea claims made by both nations.

However, Dr. Warong argued that before both sides can engage in further discussions, the government must firmly request that Cambodia ratify the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea ( UNCLOS).

Cambodia could later use the fact that it is n’t a signatory as an excuse for the disputed maritime boundary’s disputed delimitation, according to Mr. Warong.

Under the 2001 MoU, the 26, 000-square-kilometre OCA is split into two parts — the upper portion that is pending limit separation agreements, and the lower part that is designated for joint growth by both countries, said Dr Warong.

He expressed shock over the PM’s “naive misinterpretation” of Koh Kut’s western shelves claim.

The prime minister, he said, he did n’t appear to be aware that other nations, besides Thailand, could not agree on a similar designation.

He claimed that Cambodia purposefully drawn the series around the area in an effort to simultaneously assert the right to control coastal tools that are regarded as an OCA.

The Thai authorities has countered that the chart used in the MoU only serves as an illustration of the respective nations’ claimed continental shelf place and does not straddle a sea boundary.

No bound, says Thaksin

However, Thaksin claimed on Saturday in Bangkok that the 2001 MoU serves as a guide for future discussions of issues that could be resolved by both sides. It is not a binding agreement.

He claimed, however, that the Franco-Siamese Treaty of 1907 and international law both grant recognition of the MoU’s position.

Thaksin resisted linking the offer and his close ties with Cambodia and its former leader Hun Sen because they are two separate issues when asked about ideas.

” When I was prime minister and the riot ( in 2003 ) erupted at the Thai embassy in Cambodia, I was then a close friend]to the Cambodian regime].

” But I held Thailand’s interests above anything else]when handling the situation back then ]”, he said.

According to Mr. Phumtham, Thaksin’s brief tenure as an economic adviser to Cambodia came two decades ago. The former prime minister has also advised various nations on their financial affairs.

Mr. Saiyud claimed that Mr. Sittra was the only beneficiary of the large sum of money that Ms. Jatuporn gave him.

As for Mr Sittra’s prior state that he had received the money “out of affection”, Mr Saiyud said he had no idea why his client made for a speech.

Amorn Bootthongboon and Sonthaya Chaisit, two defense participants who were assisting regional faculty in February of this year, were fatally shot as a result of the rifle’s presence.

Officials believe Wichet’s movements was discovered by the gunmen, who were able to quickly find and kill him when they broke into the shop. During the event, three more people were present in the room, all of whom were unharmed.

Sugifree Mueraheng, a part of a nearby rebel group, was apprehended following the mayor’s arrest, according to a resource in the local security causes.

He officially told authorities that his organization had a central arms storage area where people could bring arms, but the location of the memory was continually changing.

Police are investigating four possible motivations in the shooting, according to a cause close to the research.

Local politics, company objectives, personal issues and safety issues are all being considered, said the resource. &nbsp,
