Songkran road accidents claim 253 lives
Bangkok had the most casualties per capita.

The so-called” seven risky days” of Songkran’s road trip this year came to an end on Thursday, with a total death toll of 253.
On the final day of the time, 147 traffic fatalities, 145 wounds, and 22 deaths were reported by the Road Safety Operation Centre on Friday. Between April 11 and April 17, a full of 1, 538 injuries and 1, 495 wounds were recorded as a result.
The number of injuries decreased by 24.8 % from last year, leading to fewer fatalities and injuries. There were 2, 044 injuries, 2, 060 wounds, and 287 deaths in the same seven-day time in 2024.
Phatthalung ( 63 ), Lampang ( 52 ), and Narathiwat ( 49 ), the provinces with the most fatal accidents this year, had the highest death toll, with Bangkok ( 19 % ) being the highest.
Zero casualties were reported in six out of 76 counties. Nakhon Nayok, Phichit, Phuket, Ranong, Satun, and Sing Buri were among them.
In the incidents, pickup trucks and automobiles remained the most concerned cars, followed by motorcycles. Between 20 and 29 years old were the victims of the fatalities, with 64.6 % being male.
