The Sea Dragon boat was en route from a dock in Bali to Nusa Penida, a well-known small beach close to Bali, when it was sucked into great waves, according to local police spokesman Agus Widiono.
When a huge wave hit their boat, the group was looking at underwater scenery and threw a 39-year-old woman over. A second storm followed, according to Widiono, which capsized the vessel in Kelingking waters.
Two nearby crews and two wounded tourists were rushed to safety of 12 survivors from the rough waters by a local boat. According to the director, rescuers likewise discovered Maree’s body.
The survivors are receiving treatment at a local health clinic and are in a secure condition.
