In the far-western area of Xinjiang, about 10 million people, primarily Muslims, are being targeted by Beijing for common abuses of Uyghurs. Beijing denies any crimes.
Thailand confirmed on Thursday that it had deported 40 Uyghurs in secret before dawn, which attracted the attention of the UN, the United States, and human rights organizations, even though China claimed that the repatriations had been done in accordance with both countries ‘ rules.
