In the recent discussion to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the genocidal acts against the Rohingya minority by Myanmar’s military, civil community groups and Myanmar’s government in exile, the National Oneness Government (NUG) urged Indonesia and Asean to take tougher actions against the Myanmar zirkel for the safety of the Rohingya people.
But it needs to be clear from the very beginning that what is happening within Myanmar should not be held responsible solely on the army, but the whole country. The NUG should stop pretending it knows nothing about who should take those blame for the killings of the Rohingya individuals.
