The man, who had previously told the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority ( ICA ), that he was a Christian, was identified as Singaporean Sinhalese, according to Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam on Saturday night.
The officers had said that based on the initial studies, the perpetrator is believed to have acted only. They also do n’t currently believe that this is a terrorist act.
The authorities urged the public to be calm and refrain from speculation as the investigation into this incident is raging.
Four other weapons were also found on the believe, who is not a regular at St Joseph’s Church, according to the authorities.
