Over the next six weeks, three city council estates with huge pigeon regions, including Ang Mo Kio, Bishan Toa Payoh, and Tanjong Pagar, will increase their cleanup efforts.
The pilot program, which may begin this month, aims to reduce disamenities and protect public health in Singapore.
The town councils on Tuesday ( Jun 25 ) released a joint media release with the National Parks Board ( NParks ), National Environment Agency ( NEA ), and Singapore Food Agency ( SFA ).
Removal of birds is necessary in Singapore because rock pigeons have great sexual costs and some natural predators, according to them, in order to reduce the number of pigeons and stop rapid population growth, especially in the near future.  ,
The captain program will be launched by NParks, with town councils taking over management of the pigeon population in their respective regions.
The birds may get removed “humanely” by trapping, followed by the use of carbon monoxide.
NParks has also created a set of rules for town authorities that use alpha-chloralose to draw birds in order to address security problems and improve the effectiveness of operations.  ,
Contractors hired by community councils may pick a location and time that have the most birds gathered, according to the guidelines.
The companies should be aware of the proper dose and administer it correctly. They should also be present throughout the entire functioning to keep an eye on the condition and act if additional birds or animals show up.  ,
To ensure that all carcasses and afflicted pigeons are removed, it should be done to conduct an extensive sweep of the taunting area.
For each place, there are different birds that will be culled. NParks will collaborate with each city council to reduce the number of pigeons to a degree that both reduces the negative effects of the disease and can sustain it over the long term.
