An inside look at a new camp for Singapore Armed Forces troops, in expanded Australian training ground

SHOALWATER BAY, Queensland: A new camp has been set up for Singapore Armed Forces ( SAF ) troops in an expanded training area in Australia. &nbsp,

Known as Camp Tilpal, it does provide 2, 000 people, away from the 1, 000 at existing near tents such as Camp Growl at the Shoalwater Bay Training Area in Queensland.

The Australian Defence Force ( ADF) and other forces invited by the American government can use the camp in addition to the SAF. &nbsp,

Soldiers who took part in this year’s largest abroad exercise, Exercise Wallaby- SAF, have already been residing at the camp. &nbsp,

Exercise Trident, a diplomatic military training between Singapore and Australia that took place in Wallaby between November 6 and November 15, is the final stage of the series. &nbsp,

Following the expansion, the Shoalwater Bay Training Area is now five times the size of Singapore.

At a ceremony on Wednesday ( Nov 13 ) to commemorate the completed expansion, Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Defence Heng Chee How said this was &nbsp, “yet another historic milestone” for both Singapore and Australia’s defence establishments.

As we prepare to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic diplomatic relations in 2015, he continued,” It is a visible sign of the unwavering faith between us.”
