CEO, best TV number, celebs and healthcare center’ doctor’ among others taken into custody
Police have arrested all 18 suspects wanted in the iCon Group fraud case, including founder and CEO Warathaphon” Boss Paul” Waratyaworrakul, the Central Investigation Bureau ( CIB ) said on Wednesday night.
Mr Warathaphon, 41, was taken into custody at the Consumer Protection Board company at around 4pm. He was present to discuss the state of his company, which is being looked into for alleged arch selling and fraud.
On suspicion of common scams and putting phony information into a computer system, the Criminal Court on Wednesday approved arrest warrants for Mr. Warathaphon and 17 people, some of whom are artists.
After his arrest, officials took him with them to seek his home and offices. He was eventually transported to Bangkok’s CIB office.
Kan Kantathavorn, a well-known TV network and professional linked to The image Group, was brought to the CIB at 7.30pm. His incarceration followed that of two different suspects, Jirawat Saengpakdee and Kanokthorn Puranasukhon.
The next three defendants arrested were Saowapha Wongsakha, Songkrot” Boss Peter” Sretthanan and Chetnaphat” Boss Tommy” Apiwattanakarn.
Arrested earlier were Mr Panjarat” Boss Tan” Kanokrakthanaphorn, Tananont” Boss Mor Ek” Hiranchaiwan, Ms Natpasorn” Boss Suay” Chatthanasor, Ms Yasikan” Boss Soda” Ekchisanuphong, Nantharat” Boss Om” Chaowanapreecha, Thawinphas” Boss Win” Phupattanarin, Hassayanont” Boss Pop” Ekchisanuphong, and star Yuranunt” Sam” Pamornmontri.
Mr. Tananont’s arrest came after an earlier fruitless search for him at the logo Wellness center in Bangkok. Although he is a clinical engineer, he is accused of fraudulently presenting himself as a doctor of medicine.
Even in prison were three more people of The image Group: artist Pechaya” Boss Min” Wattanamontree, Ms Wilailak” Boss Oil” Jengsuwan, and Thanarot” Boss Off” Thitijariyawat.
The Crime Suppression Division’s captain, Pol Maj Gen Montree Theskhan, instructed creating management to set up the rooms for interrogating the suspects of fraud, and the employees to clean the detention rooms.
More than 1, 100 people have filed scam complaints against The image Group, which sold health and diet pills.
By providing affordable website sales classes, the business attracted a lot of customers. However, when they enrolled, they were asked for more money to spend on materials, followed by more money to spend on advertising for the new hires.
