The Singapore Food Agency ( SFA ) announced on Tuesday ( Aug 20 ) that the Al Jasra restaurant’s license in Kembangan had been suspended for two weeks as a result of food safety violations.  ,  ,
From August 20 to September 2, the cafe at 459 Changi Road will not be permitted to operate.  ,
Al Jasra was also fined S$ 800 ( US$ 612 ) after accumulating 12 demerit points in a year. It was given six demerit positions each for the following crimes:  ,
- Failure to keep licensed areas ( twice ) free of infestation
Al Jasra is known for its round-the-clock roti meal.
A distributor who accumulates 12 or more fault points during a 12-month time may have their license suspended for two or four days, or have their license revoked, according to the SFA’s level system.
Before they can continue their work, all food handlers and health officers employed in the held premises must reapply and complete the required courses.
The SFA takes a very critical position on these crimes, and it is urging operators of food businesses to always follow great food and personal hygiene guidelines, the agency said.  ,
