‘Aiyoyo’ veteran actress Chen Liping leaving Mediacorp after 40 years

According to Chen, 60 represents the new 40.

” Is 60 the time to restart a job? To desire bigger? To charge ahead? As I step into this new book, I’ll remain pouring my soul into my ship as an actor”, she said. &nbsp,

” Thank you, Singapore Telly, and all my followers, for your unwavering support. You men are always the people who keep me going. Without you, there would be no’ Aiyoyo Chen Liping’ or the cherished legends we’ve created up”.

Chen added that she is “forever grateful” to SBC ( Singapore Broadcasting Corporation ), TCS ( Television Corporation of Singapore ) and Mediacorp for shaping her journey.

Chen’s announcement comes a few months after her father and brother artist Rayson Tan announced, in October, that he would leave Mediacorp after 34 years to venture outside of his convenience area.

Tan, who is also turning 60 this year, commented on Chen’s Instagram blog that he would 100 per cent help any decision she made. Other local former artistes, both past and present, including Huang Biren, Xiang Yun, Sharon Au and Patricia Mok even left words of encouragement. &nbsp,
