After a small fireplace in a store close to one of the entrance stairs early on Monday, the Airport Rail Link briefly shut Ramkhamhaeng Station down for travellers.
The train operator at the airport announced the resume of regular service at Ramkhamhaeng.
The place was shut down for the safety of passengers, and the hearth was reported about 4.30am in a store next to the elevator. It was quickly extinguished.
Teach services were no disrupted, but railways did not stop at Ramkhamhaeng. Use of Makkasan or Hua Mak facilities was advised for riders.
The fire broke out on the ground floor of a tower about four meters from the stairway, according to customers radio Jor Sor 100, about 4.30 am. The power was shut off by train officers. Firefighters only needed about 20 hours to extinguish the little fire.
No injury or harm to the place were reported. However, the damaged elevator remains locked for security reasons, according to Jor Sor 100.
The fire’s cause is being looked into by authorities.
