A physician at the local hospital has reported to the BBC that at least 21 people have been killed in a suicide bombing in the Afghan capital of Kandahar.
The Taliban authorities has estimated the death toll to three. A number of people were hurt, according to authorities.
The Taliban said the suicide attack took place at around 08: 00 ( 03: 30 GMT ) at a bank located in the city centre.
The strike, which appears to be the largest in Afghanistan this month, has not yet been disclosed by any organization.
The explosion occurred at a tree where Afghan government employees were gathered in line to collect their paychecks.
The dead and injured have been taken to Mirwais doctor, the country’s largest.
Kandahar is the seat of power of the Taliban, the bottom of their high chief.
