Actor Chen Hanwei involved in car accident with cyclist in Balestier

Mediacorp actor&nbsp, Chen Hanwei, 54, was involved in a small car accident with a biker on Aug 8. &nbsp,

In a statement from Shin Min Daily News, the rider, known as Zhou, 33, shared that he was cycling behind a vehicle along Irrawaddy Road in Balestier.

Zhou claimed to be aware of the fact that automobiles frequently pounce on the road. &nbsp,

” To ensure security, I rode on the left side”, he recalled. &nbsp,

Zhou claimed that the vehicle in front of him did not turn around and give way before entering a property.

” All of a sudden, the vehicle slowed down and took a left turn into a condo. I could n’t stop in time and hit the left side of the car, lost my balance and fell”, said Zhou.

Only when the pilot exited the vehicle did Zhou realize it was Hanwei.

He merely inquired if I was okay at that time and did n’t apologize. Zhou, who reportedly had abrasions on his right arm and left leg, claimed that he was simply making sure that I was okay so he would n’t have to take responsibility for it.

Afterwards, Hanwei revealed to Shin Min that his car “until the bike hit the left side of.” &nbsp,

Hanwei acknowledged that he did never activate his message before turning but that he did slow down to complete the move. &nbsp,

He also&nbsp, noticed that the rider was no wearing a hat. &nbsp,

” I saw that he did not wear a hat, so I asked if he was alright and if he was hurt”, he explained. He continued to film me, but I suggested we should call the police, but he continued to do so. He left the bike on the road when I called the police, and he even left it.

Zhou, on the other hand, claimed he wanted to resolve the dispute personally, but Hanwei did not acknowledge his problem and was not willing to talk about contact details. &nbsp,

” ]Hanwei] said that there is no zebra crossing on the road, so he’s not obliged to give the right of way. But I feel that it’s also his duty to carry”, said Zhou.

Zhou also claimed that he only left the scene because he had other pressing matters to attend to and that he had afterwards filed a police statement. &nbsp,

Since then, the authorities have confirmed that a document has been made regarding a collision involving a car and a bike. Additionally, they stated that no physician attention was needed for the biker because of his minor accidents. &nbsp,

The situation is still being investigated.

Shin Min was informed that Hanwei had informed the police that if it was determined that he would carry complete responsibility. &nbsp,

He added that because “it’s a small matter,” if Zhou was found to be at fault, he would n’t need to pay for him to have the car repaired. &nbsp,
