Activists welcome court”s decision to accept lawsuit

Activists have praised the court’s decision to learn a lawsuit brought against seven officials who are accused of killing and kidnapping in the Tak Bai murder of 2004.

Srisompob Jitpiromsri, the chairman of Deep South Watch, described the move as a step in the right direction toward restoring justice and peace to the troubled place.

Mr. Srisompob made the comment during a speak held in Pattani’s Muang district in Monay to explain the judge’s decision to accept the lawsuit brought against seven former officials who are accused of being responsible for the massacre, which resulted in the deaths of 85 people.

Kannavee Suebsang, a record MP for the FAIR Party, and other protesters from the deep southern also spoke at the conversation.

The defendants had now bear the consequences of their actions, according to Mr. Kannavee, who stated that justice will be served.

He emphasized that the atrocities committed in the past must be acknowledged by the whole Thai culture, as they will influence the country’s reputation abroad.

” Some items that have been hidden for the past 20 years will now be discovered.”

He said that a productive dialogue is required to take about Pattani’s long-term harmony.

Mr. Kannavee urged the government to display a strong political will in the southwestern regions.

He noted that while there are 13 MPs from the southern counties who are a part of the ruling partnership, efforts to address the area’s issues have not been successful thus far.

The FAIR Party MP criticized previous administrations for putting too much emphasis on security concerns, claiming that the previous services ‘ failures were caused by their view that everything was a security issue.

The prosecutor has scheduled Sept 12 for see investigations.
