Accidents, death toll down on Songkran holiday drives

The Road Safety Operation Centre reported on Monday that the nation had 296 fatalities on Sunday, which left 39 people dead and 299 injured.

Some travelers will set out on Thursday and Friday following the celebrations ‘ close on Wednesday, with the authorities tracking road fatalities during this year’s Songkran from last Friday through next Sunday.

The three-day tally for this year included 756 injuries, 752 wounds, and 100 deaths, which is lower than the previous year’s 948 accidents, which resulted in 965 accidents and 129 deaths.

The southern area had the highest number of fatalities in the country on Sunday, with Phuket having 15, 14 in Chumphon, and 13 in Phatthalung. Three of Pathum Thani, Sa Kaeo, and Chiang Rai died, while Lampang was in the lead in harm circumstances, at 19.

Riders remained the most unsafe mode of transportation after exceeding the speed limit, leading the causes of the injuries.

Additional interstate buses and trains have been released by Transport Co, a state-run subsidiary of the Transport Ministry, and the State Railway of Thailand. The authorities anticipated Tuesday as the start of their reports.
