Abolition of requirement to fill in traveller's card is for citizens, non-citizens, says Dr Noor Hisham

KUALA LUMPUR: The abolition of the requirement to fill in and complete the traveller’s card function in the MySejahtera application is applicable to all citizen and non-citizen vacationers, regardless of their vaccination status, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) .

However , he stated vaccination requirements had been still subject to the airline’s regulations.

“Pre-departure and on-arrival Covid-19 tests in addition to quarantine orders also are no longer required.

“However, symptom supervising activities among vacationers at all international factors of entry (PMA) in Malaysia may continue and be enhanced, ” he stated in a statement on Thursday (Aug 4).

Previously, Wellness Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the rest, which is aimed at simplifying the entry procedure for travellers to Malaysia, was decided because of the current state from the health system, that is at a good plus controlled level.

Elaborating further, Doctor Noor Hisham stated on arrival, when the traveller is recognized to have a fever through the thermal scanner or even found to be unwell, they will be referred regarding re-examination by the health department.

“After a health assessment is made and if there exists a case of suspected illness due to contagious diseases such as Covid-19, monkeypox, MERS-CoV or others, the traveler will be referred to the nearby health service for further check-up plus treatment.

“All newly arrived holidaymakers from abroad are encouraged to practise self-health status monitoring, comply with the set standard working procedures (SOP) and go to a nearby health facility for evaluation if unwell, ” he said.
