After its slope collapsed later on Sunday nights, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration suspended the repair of the Gesagomon Bridge in the Dusit area for five days.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt reported at the web-site on Monday night that the hillside erupted as a result of the digging of the river and the construction of the new embankments under the bridge.
He advised drivers to steer clear of Amnuay Songkhram Road, which is near the crumble site.
Around 9pm on Sunday, a few hours after locals spotted significant holes on the road surface in the area, the collapse apparently occurred. No cars plunged into the large tunnel, according to the governor.
The embankment was immediately subsided and cracked a water primary, according to a government official. The gate hillside collapsed as a result of the main’s water leaking.
