Man arrested in Mae Sot after firing rifle in town centre

Gunman was taken into custody and hurt in returning hearth; no additional injuries were reported.

A gentleman was apprehended on Tuesday in Tak province’s Mae Sot city after opening fire with a rifle.

According to the government’s Public Relations Department, the 43-year-old gentleman was detained after being only identified as Anuphan and taken to Mae Sot Hospital for clinical investigations.

According to other media reports, officers will eventually problem the suspect at the Mae Sot authorities station, with charges possible ranging from weapons offenses involving firing in public spaces.

Around 8am, Mr. Anuphan arrived in his pickup truck and parked in the city center. Before fleeing to a Shell diesel place close to the Mae Sot Municipality business, he then began firing shots while walking along the streets.

People of Mae Sot were advised to avoid the place, and combined police and military forces attempted to persuade the shooter to turn himself in. The man allegedly opened fire on surveillance personnel inside the gas station and was shot in returning fire.

No additional accidents were reported during the incident, according to authorities.

His gun was modified to fit his weapons, which was a 9mm.
