Five people to be charged over the running of brothels

On Tuesday ( May 6 ) in Singapore, five people will be charged with the running of brothels. Four men, one woman, and four men.

They will also face charges for their alleged links to bribes and other crimes, including bribes and providing unregulated payment service.

On October 21, 2024, officials from the Criminal Investigation Department’s Specialized Crime Branch carried out continuous attacks on Airport Boulevard, Geylang Road, Dover Road, Jurong West Street 64, Minbu Road, Upper Serangoon Road, and Upper Thomson Road. &nbsp,

17 people were detained during the procedure for their alleged role in vice-related and illegal drug actions, among other crimes.

The officers reported on Monday that investigation after investigation led to the arrest of two additional men and a female between the ages of 45 and 61, bringing the total number of people detained to 20. &nbsp,

During the operation, cash over S$ 6,100 ( US$$ 4,700 ), mobile phones, vice-related items, controlled drugs, and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Five individuals, between the ages of 36 and 61, may be charged:

  • A 40-year-old man allegedly operated houses, held vice workers, offered the sexual service of vice staff through remote communication, and allegedly made money off of the vice workers ‘ earnings.
  • A 36-year-old person allegedly encouraged others to cheat and rent out buildings that could be used as brothels and permitted the use of a bank account that he did not own to get trafficking payments.
  • The premises were supposedly the property of two men, younger 44 and 61, and a 56-year-old lady, who consented to use them as brothels.

Moreover, two men and a person were reportedly helping to run an online evil syndicate under the Women’s Charter&nbsp.

The police issued a warning to a 40-year-old woman for using distant communication tools to solicit vice workers ‘ physical services. The Central Narcotics Bureau conducted an additional 50-year-old man’s drug-related investigation.

The police said the studies against the remaining 10 suspects are continuing.

A&nbsp: A man found guilty of operating a house may experience a great of not more than S$ 10,000, a five-year prison term, or both, in accordance with the Women’s Charter.

A person who enters Singapore with a girl or woman for the purpose of trafficking could face a maximum sentence of seven years in prison and a fine of up to S$ 100,000.

If a person knowingly solicits, receives, or consents to receive any pleasure as an incentive or praise for providing any services that encourages the trafficking of another person, prison terms of up to seven years and a fine of up to S$ 100, 000 may be imposed.

Anyone who uses a distant connection company with a Singapore website that provides or facilitates the delivery of sexual services in Singapore in exchange for payment may face a fine of up to S$ 100, 000, a maximum sentence of five years, or both.

A person who is found guilty of cheating faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a good. A person who uses illegal means of payment may experience a fine of up to S$ 125,000, a three-year prison sentence, or both.
